Attributes of the blood of jesus

ATTRIBUTES OF THE BLOOD OF JESUS
29 Sep 2023 | By Pst. Gitahi Daniel

There are people in the scriptures that received different revelations about the blood of Jesus, depending on their situations.

In this study, we will look at what different people had to make of the blood.

 1. The Innocent blood

Judas referred to the blood as the Innocent blood.

This was after he had realized the mistake he made by betraying Jesus.

Matt 27:4 says, “I have sinned by betraying INNOCENT blood....."

The blood of Jesus is the innocent blood.

2. The Precious Blood

Peter called the blood precious (1 Peter 1:19)

The message Peter puts across here, is that we were not redeemed with corruptible things, but with Jesus' blood that is very precious.

1 Cor 6:20 says that we were bought at a price.

3. The Cleansing Blood

In 1 John 1:7, John called the blood cleansing blood.

"But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin."

From the above verse, we gather that the blood of Jesus cleanses men from sins.

4. The Washing Blood

Rev 1:5 is where we find this attribute. In this verse, John describes Jesus as one who loved us and washed us from sin in His blood.

5. The Overcoming Blood

Rev 12:11 ''And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death."

It is through the blood of Jesus that we overcome the accuser of brethren.

6. The Purchasing Blood

Acts 20:28 talks of the flock being purchased by the blood of Jesus.

Who can stand against those purchased by the blood of Jesus? (Rom 8:31)

Heb 2:9 says that Jesus was made a little lower than the angels so that He would taste death for everyone.

This was so that He would PURCHASE us with His blood.

7. The Redeeming Blood

Col 1:14 'In whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins.'

It does not matter what situation you have been condemned to, the blood will redeem you.

8. The Justifying Blood

To justify is to prove to be right.

Rom 5:9 "Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him."

It does not matter what sins you committed when living in ignorance, the blood has already justified you.

Rom 8:1 says there is now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus. It is because of blood that we are justified, and renewed as sinless.

According to Micah 7;19, He tosses our sins into the depths of the sea.

9. The Peace Making Blood

According to Col 1:20, the Father reconciled all things to Himself, having made peace through the blood of Jesus.

The blood of Jesus is peace making blood. One of the names that Jesus would be known by, as foretold by Isaiah, is the Prince of Peace (Isaiah 9:6)

Isaiah 48:22 says that there is no peace for the wicked. Any one involved in wickedness, has clearly not had an encounter with the blood.

Phil 4:5 says that there is certain peace that surpasses human understanding. Such peace can only be experienced by people who have been washed with the blood of Jesus.

10. The Sanctifying Blood

Heb 13:12 says that Jesus suffered outside the gate, so that He may sanctify us with His blood.

See more scriptures about the Blood of Jesus below; In Isaiah 53:4-6, He was wounded for us. By His wounds we are healed.

Isaiah 53:5 specifically says,

But He was wounded for our transgressions,He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him,And by His stripes we are healed.

In 2 Cor 8:9 He became poor although rich, so that we might become rich.

In Gal 3:14 Jesus became a curse for us, so that we can be blessed.

In 2 Cor 5:21, He became a sin although sinless so that we may become the righteousness of God.

All these attributes help us understand what role the ever fresh blood of Jesus plays in our lives. With understanding, let us apply this blood in our lives according to our situations.
