Being of fellowship with god - peace
Rom 5:1 "Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ."
One of the things that a man of fellowship with God enjoys is peace. Peace is vital in the life of any human being.
There is an emptiness that comes with lack of peace.
According to the Word, the end of a righteous man is peace.
From the scriptures, we can gather these points concerning peace.
The Character of Peace
1. Ruling Peace
Col 3:15 advocates that peace should rule over our hearts. The verse further says that we were called to peace.
Peace is so important that Pro 17:1, says that a dry morsel of bread, with peace, is better than a house full of feasting, but with no peace.
2. Protecting/Guarding Peace
In Phil 4:7, the Word says that the peace of God that surpasses all understanding is able to guard our hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
John 16:33 “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”
As the Prince of Peace, the peace that the Lord gives those that come to Him, guards and protects them.
Isaiah 48:22 says that there is no peace for the wicked. Righteousness therefore grants peace.
3. Peace while Sleeping
In Psalms 4:8, the psalmist talks of lying down, and sleeping in peace because the Lord makes him dwell in safety.
A righteous man should dwell in safety whether awake or sleeping. He should enjoy his sleep.
4. The Fruit of Peace
Isaiah 32:17 says that the fruits of righteousness will be peace. Furthermore, quietness and confidence will be the forever effects of that peace.
5. Peace that brings blessings
Psalms 29:11 says that the Lord gives strength to His people and blesses them with peace.
Believers should enjoy a life of fruitfulness and productivity. We know that God's blessings bring wealth, and addeth no sorrow (Pro 10:22)
So if the righteous are in business or whatever venture, they should enjoy the blessings from God, with a lot of peace.
It is important to know that sinning causes peacelessness.
6. Great Peace
Psalms 119:165 says that great peace have those who love the Lord's law, and nothing can make them stumble.
From this verse, a righteous man should not just enjoy peace, but peace in its great heights.
7. Perfect Peace
Isaiah 26:3 "You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you."
A man who trusts in God enjoys perfect peace, as a result of the fellowship they have with God.
Peace is a fruit that believers, in continual fellowship with God, ought to enjoy.
Lack of peace is brought by factors such as sinning and not making amends with God after doing something wrong.
