God does not just call upon us to be righteous. It is for our own good.

Holiness carries a lot of benefits to the saints. We can't overlook the fact that, those that will see God MUST be holy.

We will look at some of the benefits down below.

1. Though the righteous man may fall, he gets up every time.

Prov 24:16 "Though a righteous man may stumble seven times, he rises again. The wicked are however, brought down by calamity."

This means that you should keep trying no matter what. If it's a business, it will eventually obtain breakthrough.

As long as you are a pursuant of righteousness, things will eventually work out for you.

For the unjust however, their calamity awaits.

2. The righteous are never forsaken or deserted

Psalms 37:25  "I was young and now I am old, yet I have never seen the righteous forsaken or their children begging bread."

The fruits that one reaps after sowing righteousness, trickle down to their children as well.

Lacking, however does not mean that you are deserted. You could be in a spiritual wilderness, which can be personal, demonic or Godly.

This can explain some of the hardships that you could be going through.

Personal wilderness - Is brought about by your personal decisions especially those that lead to sin.

Godly wilderness - God takes you through this phase to search and make your heart. This could be in preparation for greatness.

Satanic wilderness - This is a demonic programming against your life, meant to delay you.

Whatever case, you need to discern and align accordingly.

3. The end of the righteous shall be good

Isaiah 3:10 says "Tell the righteous it will be well with them, for they will enjoy the fruits of their deeds."

Keep going if you know that your ways please God. Even when it tarries, the promise in the Word of God can be relied on.

4. The paths of the righteous shine bright

Prov 4:18 "The path of the righteous is like the morning sun, shining ever brighter till the full light of day."

This simply means that the righteous radiate certain glory that can only come from God. Their lives are full of light.

5. The righteous will go free/saved from danger

Prov 11:21 "Be sure of this: The wicked will not go unpunished, but those who are righteous will go free."

While the wicked are punished, the righteous will be saved from all  circumstances. You see, the eye of the Lord is ONLY on the righteous and that's the nature of the kingdom.

When the wicked are in similar situations, they might not have the same privilege of protection.

6. God holds victory in store for the righteous

Prov 2:7 'He holds success in store for the upright, he is a shield to those whose walk is blameless.'

When missiles are fired your way, you will be protected because one benefit of being righteous is protection.

7. God preserves the way of the righteous (his saints)

Preservation means being exempted from calamities and such happenings.

When there is an invasion, God preserves His righteous.

Prov 2:8 says that God guards the course of the just and protects the way of His faithful ones.

According to Psalms 119:105, the Word of God is a lamp unto the feet of the righteous, and a light unto their paths.

8. Righteousness brings life, prosperity and honour

Prov 21:21 says that whoever pursues righteousness and love finds life, prosperity and honor.

According to Psalms 91:16 long life is a portion of the righteous in line with divine order.

Biblical characters lived long and this was their secret. They even discerned their season and time of death.

Most would call their family members and leave instructions before resting forever.

From Psalms 116:15 we get that the death of the faithful is very precious to God.

The reason is the fact that those that are faithful don't die. They transit to another realm.

9. The eyes of God are upon the righteous.

1 Peter 3:12 "For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous and his ears are attentive to their prayer, but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil.”

The scriptures reveal that God's eyes go to and fro the world, to help/save/strengthen those that are blameless.

If you fall back or backslide, this divine law ceases to apply in your life.

10. The righteous are delivered from all their troubles.

Psalms 34:17 reveals that the righteous may have many afflictions, but God delivers them from them all.

Sometimes the righteous will find themselves in trouble.

God will always show Himself mighty in such situations.

11. He sustains the righteous

Psalms 55:22 says that we ought to cast our cares to God for sustenance.

God will not allow the righteous to fall, slip or fail.

In the midst of trouble, lean on the assurance in 1 Thes 5:24. It says, 'The one who calls you is faithful, and he will do it.'

12. The righteous will not be shaken

Psalms 112:6 "He will not be shaken but will be remembered forever."

Whatever is meant to shake and tremble the rest of the world, cannot move the blameless. This is because they have God as their anchor.

These are just some of the benefits of being in the right standing with God.

An indepth study of the Word of God can reveal more and more.

Being holy doesn't benefit God. It benefits us. He does not count on man to be the God that He is.
