The character of jesus; faithfulness

There is a lot to learn from Jesus our Lord. One of the reasons He came into this world was to set an example for us to follow.

We'll look at some of His very striking characteristics.

Matt 11:29  "Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls."

We are told to follow in the footsteps of Jesus Christ not just follow Him. One of His dear character is faithfulness.

1 Cor 1:9 "God is faithful, who has called you into fellowship with his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord."

Being faithful is different from being faithfull.

A faithfull person exudes a lot of faith in their dealings i.e full of faith.

A faithful person is loyal, steadfast and true to something.

Jesus was not faithfull He was faithful. He is faith itself so He needed not have any faith.

He was/is all along loyal and steadfast and that is what we ought to take from Him.

We should be faithfull; because without faith we cannot please God, and faithful; for God does not take pleasure in those whose minds are not fully made up.

1 Cor 1:9 "God is faithful, who has called you into fellowship with his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord."

Heb 10:23  "Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful."

We must be faithful in all spheres of our lives; in our speech, thoughts and actions.

God has entrusted us with life to glorify Him.

Our bodies are altars that God has trusted us with to be offered as sacrifices to Him.We should be cautious with where we allow our minds to wander because what we think we become.

We owe it all to God to be faithful in our thinking patterns.

2 Thes 3:3 "But the Lord is faithful, and he will strengthen you and protect you from the evil one."

If we will be acceptable when the time comes to be judged by Christ according to His Word, then we must remain faithful.

There are three main areas we need to really take care of as believers i.e what we think, what we say and what we do.

Apply this technique that i would love to label "TTD"

T-hink God.

T-alk God.

D-o God.

In your thoughts, speech and actions make sure you remain faithful. Faithful in your thoughts, faithful in your speech and faithful in your deeds.

Jesus did everything in accordance with God's will.

Rev 19:11 "And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war."

The scripture above calls Jesus faithful and true. His name is His character. This is Jesus, the King who judges in justice but the bottomline is that He is faithful .

As believers we cannot operate under an open Heaven if we are unfaithful. A faithful God has no business with an unfaithful believer.

It is for this reason that most believers have their heavens shut such that they cannot be heard by God. Be faithful. He judges justly.
