The end is near

THE END IS NEAR
15 Mar 2023 | By Pst. Gitahi Daniel

The Bible is prophetic. It is heavily made up  of prophecies.

The owner of the church is coming and it's soon. He is coming for a spotless bride. On that day, it will dawn on people that everything they heard about Jesus, and took for granted was real.

For our own sake, may we realise it today.

There are 101 prophecies about the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

99 of these have been fulfilled. Only two are standing between us and the rapture; unveiling of the antichrist and the end world war.

We'll look at some of the end time signs that we can all relate with as we are experiencing them today.

Hunger and Earthquakes

Matt 24:7 talks of how in the end there will be hunger and earthquakes in various places

'For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places.'

Luke 21:11 echoes the same.

In the recent past, we have seeing on the news of the countries wrecked by earthquakes and the number of lives lost.

Nations Rising against Nations

A good example of a nation rising against another in recent times, is Russia vs Ukraine.

Seems like nations are obsessed with being superior in terms of weaponry.

In Matt 24:32, Jesus cautions us to learn from the fig tree, because as soon as as it's twigs get tender and it's leaves come out, you know that summer is near.

Verse 34 says 'Assuredly, I say to you, this generation will by no means pass away till all these things take place.'

War, Famine and Diseases

We all know what COVID-19 has been like, and how many other diseases continue to affect the world.

So many people face displacement from their homes because of war, as well as loss of lives. We continue to hear of people lacking food around the world.

Crime

Matt 24:12 says that lawlessness will abound and the love of many will grow cold.

As you know, people commit all manner of things and still hide behind pulpits without fear.

The things we hear in this day and age are nerve-wracking.

Remember that we ought to walk in the footsteps of Christ. 1 Peter 2:21

2 Tim 3:1-3 talks of the kind of people that will be there in the last days.

The kind of people defined in these verses are clearly in our times.

Breakdown of Families

Today it is a norm to have children out of wedlock. It is a norm for children to live without either parent causing conflicts, and emotionally exhausted homes.

Divorce

Today, people marry and divorce at will as if there are many choices available in marriage. These things were unheard of in the past.

True love will Diminish

Matt 24:12 'And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold.'

Instead, people are lovers of pleasure than lovers of God (2 Tim 3:4)

Religious Hypocrisy

The last days will be full of false believers and false teachers.

I know you have heard of several instances of people claiming to be Jesus Christ, as if being a false prophet is not bad enough.

False believers put up with these kinds of doctrines without questioning them.

Lack of Self Control

In the end, people will lack the power to control themselves.

Have you heard of the abominable things that people do this days? sleeping with animals, homosexuality etc.

Churches will be full of entertainment

Sadly, there is a lot of entertainment in our churches today, as opposed to true worship. Our God is a Spirit who commands true worship, in spirit and in truth.

Most church services today are about pleasing people not God.

The Holy Spirit cannot partake in such happenings. No wonder He is so absent in our services today.

Increase of Wisdom

Technology and the internet are good examples. This wisdom can be put into good use for kingdom advancement and such.

Sadly, this wisdom is ruining man, and to a huge extent, spreading immorality and advocating for that which is ungodly.

We are clearly at the very end. In fact time is long over. Rapture can occur anytime. Be alert.
