The holy spirit in our lives
You need to have the Holy Spirit for an effective spiritual walk. The truth is, He is and should be the mark of every believer.
You should consult the Holy Spirit in everything that you do. Before making any decision, seek guidance from the Helper.
Gal 5:16 'So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh.'
The flesh has desires which are contrary to the Spirit. Anyone who hates a fellow brethren, for instance, is clearly in the flesh, despite being born again.
The Holy Spirit will reveal,
1.The Holiness of God
2. The truth in you
3. The fear of God
The Holy Spirit is NOT a feeling as many people have been led to believe. He is God the Spirit, and is equal to the Father and the Son.
He is the one with us here on earth.
1. He Thinks and Feels
He knows what is right and what's wrong. He can see what you can't see.
Invite Him to direct you in every aspect of your life.
He will put ideas in your mind concerning what you have asked. The reason why He has not being talking to you is because you have not been consulting Him.
1 Cor 2:10 "These are the things God has revealed to us by his Spirit. The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God."
2. He Decides
1 Cor 12:11 "All these are the work of one and the same Spirit, and he distributes them to each one, just as he determines."
The Holy Spirit, when given a chance, decides for a believer what way to go or which option to choose. Remember that His way is the perfect way.
3. He Speaks
John 15:26 “When the Advocate comes, whom I will send to you from the Father—the Spirit of truth who goes out from the Father—he will testify about me."
The Holy Spirit is a witness. He testifies about Jesus, who is the centre of the Gospel.
He also speaks. You will start to hear His voice when you launch deep in seeking God.
4. He Teaches
John 14:26 "But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you."
The best teacher you can have as a son of God, is the Holy Spirit. When He comes into a believer's life after salvation, He teaches a believer how to talk, pray, read the Word of God, dress and much more.
This is why transformation in a person, who is yielded to the Spirit, is always evident. You can't be truly born again and still live like the world.
The Holy Spirit teaches us the things of Christ.
5. He Intercedes for Us
Rom 8:26 "In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans."
The Holy Spirit is our intercessor. He prays by groaning in unexplainable utterances.
Praying in tongues goes deeper than what the human mind could ever comprehend.
It calls for you to be baptized with the Holy Ghost, for Him to take over whenever you go to the place of prayer.
The length and the depth of your prayers is determined by what relationship you have with the Holy Spirit.
Remember that the Spirit knows the plans of God over your life.
When He helps you pray, He prays in the plan of God. The flesh can never figure out what God truly wants, and has purposed for you.
The Holy Spirit is so important to a believer, that the vitality cannot be captured in writing.
You have to go deeper with God to understand who He truly is, and what you can achieve through Him.
Be quickened by the Spirit of the Living God.
