The rewards in heaven

THE REWARDS IN HEAVEN
07 Apr 2023 | By Pst. Gitahi Daniel

We are not too far to the end. The beauty of it is that there will be rewards after overcoming this world.

Rev 2:26 says that the one who will overcome to the end will reign over nations.

1 Cor 2:9 says 'no eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those that love Him.'

2 Cor 4:18 'We fix our eyes not on what is seen but on the unseen. What is seen is temporary. What is unseen is eternal.'

We are charged in Ecc 9:8, to always be clothed in white.

This is because a new creature in Christ usually receives and is clothed in the said garments. You will, however, determine if the garments stay spotless, by your actions.

According to Rev 3:4-5, those people who have not defiled their garments, are worthy.

Verse 5 says 'He who overcomes shall be clothed in white garments, and I will not blot out his name from the Book of Life; but I will confess his name before My Father and before His angels.'

White clothes/robe signify;

1. They stand for purity.

Anyone that enters heaven will qualify because of being pure.

 2. They stand for Perfection.

These people are perfected to enter heaven.

White robe will be a sign or rather a mark of distinction. Anyone not clothed in white has not found perfection.

 3. White robes stand for victory.

Being clothed in white means that you have won the battles of this life

 4. They stand for Rest.

The world is full of restlessness. We are sojourners. Once we enter heaven, we will enter rest.

 5. Stand for Joy.

That person dressed in white will have entered into eternal joy. According to Matt 5:4, those who mourn shall be comforted.

 6. White robes stand for truth.

 The white robe represents truth.

The Word continues to paint a picture of people clothed in white according to Rev 7:9-10 and verses 13-14.

According to Rev 4:4, the twenty four elders are in white clothes.

The Word says 'Around the throne were twenty-four thrones, and on the thrones I saw twenty-four elders sitting, clothed in white robes; and they had crowns of gold on their heads.'

Different Types of Rewards

General Rewards

Anybody that will meet Jesus in the air will receive a reward. These are the general rewards.

Overcoming Rewards

Overcoming Rewards are for anybody that will overcome.

Heavenly Treasures

Matt 6:20 'Keep for yourselves treasures in heaven where moth and rust do not destroy and where thieves cannot break and steal.'

There are treasures stored for God's people in Heaven for their works down here.

Do all your good deeds not to be seen by men, but to glorify God. Even Jesus, after raising Lazarus fled so that people would not praise him. Let your treasures be stored in heaven.

Recognition Rewards

Rev 3:5 reveals that, there are people that the Lord Jesus will recognize, and whose names He will confess, before His Father in Heaven, and before the angels.

In Heaven,Jesus will be ashamed of whoever is ashamed of him on earth. (Luke 9:26)

Whoever acknowledges Jesus will also be acknowledged before the Father, but whoever denies Him will also be denied. (Matt 10:32)

No wonder Matt 7:23 reveals that there are people in this kingdom that will hear 'Depart from me I never knew you.'

Jesus further likened the Kingdom of God to the ten virgins that took out their lamps to meet the groom in Matt 25.

To the foolish virgins, i.e the believers that won't be ready enough for the groom, they shall hear these words from Christ, 'I tell you the truth, I don't know you.' (Matt 25:12)

You had better not be recognized by men here on earth, than to be recognized as an elder in church, usher etc, only to go to heaven and hear 'I never knew you.'

4. Authority/Reign Reward

Rev 22:5 reveals that saints will reign forever, in a land with no light of the sun, nor lamp, because God will give them light.

Rev 20:6 reveals of the raptured church, coming back to reign with Christ a thousand years.

This is a reward for all those who will be raptured. They will actually reign together with Christ.

Four Things You Must Do;

- Run your race well

- Fight to the end

- Be disciplined

- Be obedient

This is the cost for anyone who desires to not only be rewarded with eternal life, but to also reign with Christ forever
